Dear Families and Friends,

Happily, we have witnessed a promising start to the academic year here at Our Lady of Sorrows Academy. This is mostly due to the solid foundation upon which we are continuing to build this year.

We recognize the priests, religious, teachers, and families of the past years for their correspondence with the grace of God to bring the Academy to where it is now. And an especial recognition needs to go to our beloved Father C. Pedersen.

The Pieta on the school grounds is, in a way, a monument to the work of Fr. Pedersen. Joyfully we announced the blessing of the New Pieta Statue at the hands of His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay. His Excellency explained to the children that, now blessed, the Pieta has become a fountain of graces for all those who invoke her aid through this statue.

Grace is necessary for Catholic formation. God generously dispenses grace through the hands of His priests. It is because of the priesthood of Our Lord Jesus Christ that the children now have these graces flowing to them from Our Sorrowful Mother present on campus. The grace of God is the real key to Catholic education.

In the Sorrowful Heart of Our Mother,

Fr. Samuel Fabula
Principal
