Dear Families and Friends,
As we move out of the Christmas season and enter that of Septuagesima, I encourage you to continue in your efforts to intentionally change our culture. St. Paul tells us that Christ has to be King; truly “He must reign” in our Academy and our homes. The Catholic Culture we want to establish is centered on Christ in every aspect of our lives. Moving the Christmas concert after the Christmas break has helped us keep our attention on Christ during the season of the Nativity. Now we want to watch Our Lord’s life closely in order to know how to live our own.
Emmanuel, God among us, is the Master from Whom we must learn to live and more must He be our life: “I have come that they may have life, and may have it more abundantly.” Christ teaches us, not only through His words but also through His actions, how we are to live. Meditate upon Christ's every move to emulate His virtues.
We aspire to say, “I no longer live but Christ lives in me.” But this will only happen after we come to know the Person of our affection, after we contemplate his way of acting, and, after we have adopted His mentality. If we want Christ to reign in our hearts, homes, and country, we must know and imitate Him. I pray that your families may imitate Christ because you know Him.
In the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts,
Father Samuel Fabula
