Our Lady of Sorrows (OLOS) Cavaliers had only two losses this season,
unfortunately, we had to forfeit two games due to co-ed teams which
prevented us from going into the post-season. Next season we will
move into the higher/larger school division II. In so doing, we will
hopefully avoid the co-ed team situation. This year’s team was the
finest team OLOS has had in its 12 years. The pitching was remarkable
with Dominic Wantland and Joe Young being the primary starters with
the assistance of Vincent Dewitt. The team’s batting was by far the
best OLOS has had, scoring an average of 12 runs per game. While our
defense also was outstanding, only allowing an average of 3 runs per
game. A major factor in our offensive punch was not only our batting
contact but, even more so, our base-running. We had on average 8
steals per game. What was even more remarkable than our physical
play was the way we thought baseball. Baseball is a thinking game and
we demonstrated this throughout the season.
